Abstract

This scintific article discusses the management of ponorogo square as a tourist icon of the city of ponorogo district, in easternjava. What a tourist attraction Ponorogo square and how to manage it in order become an interesting city tour icons. This research is direct observation inthe field and interview data from informant such as officers, visitors and managersaround. This research is qualitative that is research conducted in accordance with the true facts occur at the location of the project site and directly observation. From the results of research show that ponorogo square is managed by crosssectoral, has a good tourism potential to be visited. The uniqueness and characterictic of the surrounding statue that have a ponorogobased cultural identity that is based on the cultural heritage that can be a tourist icon in the city of ponorogo
