Abstract

The customary ritual of Seblang Bakungan is one of the mystical rituals in Banyuwangi involving the ancestral spirits, and is a sacred ritual as a means to thank God, communicate to the ancestors, and keep the harmony of fellow villagers. With this cultural event and full support from the government and also the local community is expected to visit foreign and domestic tourists to Banyuwangi can increase. In this study the authors use qualitative methods where the resulting data in the form of description. And also the analysis used is SWOT analysis to get the development strategy easily. Society and also the Government already has a good role both in terms of provision of human resources and also promotion in Conservation Traditional Ritual Seblang Bakungan as a cultural tourism attraction in Banyuwangi regency. By making this ritual as an annual event, which is able to bring tourists to the District of Banyuwangi.
