Abstract

Tourism as an activity of the economy has become a mainstay and priority development for a countries in the world, especially in Indonesia. The Virgin Waterfall is one of the unique attractions for being the highest waterfall in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and managed by villagers Sidoharjo, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta. Method of research of this scientific Articles presented qualitatively. The methods used for data collection is by observation, interview, questionnaire and then analyzed qualitatively. This research was conducted to answer the problem of statement. The efforts to develop the Virgin Waterfall tourism is improving and adding the tourism facilities like; toilet, dressing room, garden, gazebo, warning board, mosque and guard post. Other than that make events, and doing promotion through the internet and make a tour package. The role of the community in the development of the Virgin Waterfall is very important, good cooperation between the manager and the community will give a nice impact for the development and success of the tourism. The role of the Government in the development of the Virgin Waterfall is also very important, funding and promotion is expected to create a Virgin Waterfall better in its development.
