Abstract

West Sumbawa regency has a lot of natural beauty and blazing tourism, one of which is Kenawa Island. It takes management, development and promotion strategies from the government and the community to make Kenawa Island as a leading marine tourism in West Sumbawa.. From the results of this study shows that Kenawa Island has enormous potential and appeal, but does not yet have official legality from the central government. And Kenawa Island also still needs development in terms of facilities and qualified Human Resources, because the role of government and society is needed in the management and development of Kenawa Island. The role of the government is also very necessary for the community so they have the supervisors who are always ready to help deal with problems that arise in the future. Human resource development is also needed to create a strong and stable management institution so as to manage and develop Kenawa Island become the leading maritime tourism in West Sumbawa.
