Abstract

Lake Sentarum area one of the holiday destination for the community of Kapuas Hulu. Sentarum Lake is located in the heart of Borneo or precisely in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan, Lake Sentarum area which is a lake lake composed of 20 small big lakes, since 1999 designated as Danau Sentarum National Park (TNDS). Sentarum Lake is very different from other "conventional" lake, because Lake Sentarum is actually a flooded area (lebak lebung / floodplain). With its location and condition that is in the middle of the mountain range make this area as a catchment area. In the rainy season the complex of Lake Sentarum will be inundated by the flow of water from the mountains around it and from the overflow of the long river in Indonesia that is the Kapuas. The tourism facilities in Lake Sentarum have also been quite good. Based on the results of direct observations when the author at the location of Lake Sentarum, the authors see many facilities around Lake Sentarum is very easy to reach by tourists. The facilities are speedboat, longboat, homestay, bathroom, puskesmas, and resort made by the manager. Although there are already some facilities available that strongly support the sustainability of tourism activities, still there are facilities that must be added according to the author such as restaurants and tourist attractions are still very minimal.
