Abstract

Golek Sulung Dayung dance is one of the classical dance of Yogyakarta style. Golek Sulung Dayung dance tells about a grown�up teenage girl who likes to dress up to attract the opposite sex. Golek Sulung Dayung dance can only be traced by women only. The name of Golek Sulung Dayung dance is taken from the gendhing escort, Sulung Dayung. Based on the results of the research, the role of the government in the preservation of the Golek Sulung Dayung Dance itself is carried out by holding events that include / present the Golek Sulung Dayung Dance as one of the classical dance cultures owned in Yogyakarta. The role of the community in the preservation of dance can be seen from the enthusiasm in watching and learning it. Based on the research, the strategy carried out for the preservation of the Golek Sulung Dayung Dance itself is to teach the dance to young people / tourists in the dance studio because the dance is a basic dance.
