Abstract

Betangan Island is an island that has a lot of tourism potential located in Lassar Village, Membalong District, Belitung Regency. This study discusses the tourism potential offered by Betangan Island to be developed, the role of government and society, and the strategies taken in developing Betangan Island as a tourist attraction so that it is interesting for tourists to visit. The research method uses qualitative methods and data analysis using SWOT analysis, while the SWOT analysis is used as a formulation of strategy problems. The role of the government in the development of Betangan Island has not been clearly seen yet that there has been no regulation on the development of Betangan Island. However, the role of the community has been clearly seen through the support given by the community. For this reason, a strategy is needed in its development, such as cooperation with the government, fostering tourism for local communities, optimal promotion and more targeted tourism planning.
