Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine whether promotion through social media has an impact on tourists' interest in visiting Umbul Ponggok, this study used a quantitative type by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents with the test results stating that the interest of tourists visiting the Umbul Ponggok tourist attraction is not greatly influenced by social media because Umbul Ponggok is a fairly well-known tourist attraction among the community and it is estimated that the interest of tourists visiting the Umbul Ponggok tourist attraction is influenced by the experience of tourists who have visited there and carried out word of mouth promotion, the R Square value of 0.275 means that promotion affects tourist interest by 27.5% while the remaining 72.5% is influenced by factors.
