Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impacts arising from the development through revitalization carried out at the Benteng Vredeburg Museum. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the museum's revitalization brings various positive impacts in terms of physical, socio-cultural, economic, and educational aspects. Physically, the revitalization improves the quality of the museum’s facilities and infrastructure. From a socio-cultural perspective, the museum serves as a medium for preserving local history and culture. Economically, the museum’s development supports the growth of the surrounding community’s economy through an increase in visitors and cooperation with local communities. In the educational aspect, the museum plays an important role as a source of historical learning for students and the general public by producing innovative works that encompass various learning methods to attract tourists' interest in learning. However, this study also finds potential negative impacts; therefore, efforts are needed to optimize positive impacts and minimize negative ones so that the museum’s development as a historical educational tourism destination can be sustainable.
