Abstract

The background of this research is the Balkondes Karangrejo tourism object in Magelang Regency, Central Java where the Balkondes Karangrejo tourism object is one of the potential balkondes in the Borobudur area in Magelang Regency. The existence of the Karangrejo Balkondes besides aiming to improve the welfare of the community also aims to attract tourists in the Borobudur area so that it is not only concentrated in the Borobudur Temple alone. In its development, Karangrejo Balkondes made good progress, but the management had several things that had to be addressed. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires as supporting data. The data collected is also sourced from various sources, such as: Manager of the Karangrejo Balkondes Tourism Object, the relevant Government, as well as the community around the Karangrejo Balkondes tourist attraction. From this study resulted in several efforts that could be made to develop the Karangrejo Balkondes tourist attraction in order to become a leading tourist attraction in Magelang Regency. Where the development efforts in the form of developing facilities, accessibility and tourist attraction require good cooperation and support from the parties concerned.
