Abstract

The tourism domain around the world is under threat due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the tourism sector in the Dieng Plateau Region of Wonosobo Regency. There is a government policy to implement restrictions on physical interaction to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic whereas it leads to the impact that must be addressed through adaptation strategies by tourism stakeholders of the Dieng Plateau Region. Adaptation is unavoidable considering the Dieng Plateau area has a lot of natural beauty and tourist attractions, one of which is Sidengkeng Hill which can be managed to maintain the economy of the tourism sector in the pandemic. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection method in the manner of observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study showed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (Coronavirus disease 2019) on the tourism sector particularly in the Dieng Plateau of Wonosobo Regency including a decrease in tourist visits that affect the economy of the tourism sector. it sparks the notion to give rise to adaptation strategies from tourism stakeholders starting from the government that issued new policies related to new habits: then the manager by raising the price of admission and increasing the implement health protocol devices. This is continued by Small and Medium Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) that change the form of digital marketing and increase the focus of sales products.
